Questions?

We MAY just have THE answerS

1. How Do I Install Record Props To Display Vinyl On The Wall?

It’s quick (10 minutes or less), it’s easy (tried and true), and we’ve got some great resources for you to follow along with during your installation.

2. Will Record Props fit all albums?

Record Props have been designed to fit most albums when displayed on the wall. We've come as close as possible to a one-size-fits-all design, however not 100% of albums will fit. Where does that leave us... one-size-fits-most? We've tested countless albums and have come up with a design that fits the overwhelming majority.

When displaying on a wall, box sets, or albums containing three or more vinyl records are an example of those that will likely not fit. Most single-vinyl albums and most two-vinyl albums with gatefolds will fit, however some gatefolds, particularly double gatefolds (those that unfold twice) may or may not have a depth too wide to fit, depending on how thick the cover/cardboard is. Even some single albums which are printed on a very heavy/thick cardboard, fit better in the gatefold side of Record Props when displayed on the wall.

When displaying on tabletop, only single / non-gatefold albums apply since gatefolds stand upright by themselves. We've come up with a design that fits the majority of album covers to ensure you can display what is “now playing” as often as possible.

3. What about THE F***ING dust?  Will my records be harmed?

9 out of 10 Dustys agree… We all need to keep our records dust free.

9 out of 10 Dustys agree… We all need to keep our records dust free.

Make no bones about it, records collect dust. Thankfully, Record Props attract no more dust than listening to records on a player without a dust cover. They’re specifically designed to enable listeners continuous rotation for what’s Now Playing, avoiding increased dust that would otherwise collect on a horizontal shelf.

It's always important to spin responsibly no matter how you decide to play or display your collection. We advocate for the usual precautions and a proper record cleaning brush (or cloth) before spinning up your albums.

In need of a good brush? We even have a few recommended options.

4. Will Record Props DAMAGE MY album COVERs?

That would be horrible, wouldn't it? We've paid close attention to the detail of Record Props and we've created a design that pays close attention to your records. With a slight beveled edge that helps avoid damage to your covers, you can easily tilt your albums into place until they're flat against the wall.

Considering Record Props for a longer term vinyl wall display? It’s important to keep gravity in mind. Whether you’re using Record Props or any other method to display your albums, we’ve got some important details to be cautious of when selecting your long term vinyl record display and storage options.

10. Where did the NAME record props originate?

Our core philosophy stems from celebration of art and music. In the literal sense, we're propping vinyl records upright, but moreover we're giving props to the artists and musicians we love. Add to that a bit of fun music trivia – the origination of the term props leads back to the Otis Redding song Respect. In it, the lovely Aretha Franklin shares her amazing vocals as she proclaims: ... I'm about to give you all of my money. And all I'm askin' in return, honey, Is to give me my propers when you get home ... We couldn't have said it better, Aretha.
